PARTY IN THE PARK (PIP).
Party In The Park (PIP) was the PCA's main Summer community event. It hangs in the balance as to whether it will return in Summer 2025.
The event is run by The Pitshanger Community Association (PCA) and our amazing volunteers and is a primary fundraiser enabling the PCA to support other local organisations and causes. Unfortunately Ealing Council are making it more and more difficult for us to run this event and the shortage of volunteers makes it even harder. If you think you might be able to help with any aspect of running this event in the future, please email annette.walsham@pitshanger.org.uk
Enjoy music and dance acts by local clubs and schools.
Hunger and thirst are kept at bay by the Gastrodome, where local restauranteurs stimulate taste buds by a range of BBQ, Hog Roast, Pimms, Strawberries & Cream and many cuisines. The Beer Tent runs all day with live music that continues throughout the evening.
The Village Fayre offers everything from arts, crafts, plants, cakes, homemade goods and many other activities. The Sports Village offers many sporting activities and venues open to the local community.
Other attractions include a magnificent Carousel and the Dave Wallis Arena, which hosts various fun activities, including a dog show and the jolly games.
This year we are introducing Minisville for the under 5's with inflatables, gardening, story time, yoga, arts & crafts and music (unlimited entry £5 per child). Open 1pm to 5pm.
Youthsville for 5 to 18-year-olds. This area includes a four-way climbing wall, a last one standing game and a 15-metre assault course. (unlimited entry £10 per child). Open 1pm to 5pm.
Adult entry to Party in the Park is a cost of a programme which is £3 each.
This event is run entirely by voluntary resources. For more information, check our Instagram feed https://www.instagram.com/pitshangerpca/
We look forward to seeing you there!
LIGHT UP THE LANE (LUTL).
As with Party in the Park and for the same reasons, we do not yet know whether we will be in a position to run Light up the Lane in 2025.
Pitshanger Lane is home to the shops and restaurants serving the Pitshanger area, and it was the Pitshanger Traders who started Light Up The Lane. Since 2001, the PCA has run the event in cooperation with the Pitshanger Traders. Shops in the Lane stay open, selling mince pies, mulled wine, samosas, candy floss and anything else that will raise money for charitable causes. Pitshanger Lane is closed to traffic and there will be entertainment up and down the Lane.
The tree lights - many thousands of them in the trees along Pitshanger Lane - are lit every evening during the Christmas period, cheering up the local area right through to twelfth night. Needless to say, the weather has a part to play in any open air event that takes place in the middle of winter. Over the years we've had just about everything - wet, dry, mild, cold and even artificial snow one year. However, Pitshanger residents and traders are a hardy bunch and turn out in their thousands whatever the weather.
